Mastering Chromium(VI)
The Chromate Remediators

CHP Chromate Remediation
Calcium-based insulation systems in combined heat and power (CHP) plants generate chromium(VI), in particular calcium chromate (CaCrO₄). Kavarmat®’s chromate remediation specialists secure the engine area, remove the contaminated thermal insulation with minimal dust generation, decontaminate the engine and surrounding area in accordance with regulations, and also ensure its proper disposal.

Waste incineration – chromate ash
During waste incineration, combustion residues containing chromium(VI) are produced as a result of a thermochemical reaction between the waste and stainless steel components in the incinerator (chromate ash). Here too, the chromate remediation specialists at Kavarmat® carry out their work in compliance with statutory health and safety and environmental protection regulations

Waste incineration – dust suppression
The carcinogenic chromate sludge is sprayed with KavarClean® Redox Spray, which suppresses dust and decontaminates the sludge thanks to its chromate-reducing ingredients.
For the rapid decontamination of chromium(VI) compounds – a process some companies mistakenly refer to as ‘neutralisation’ – KavarClean® products can be ordered here.

Waste incineration – Chromium(VI) decontamination
The Chromate Decontaminators from Kavarmat® operate at the very heart of chromate formation – the incinerator of a waste-to-energy plant – where materials such as glass and similar items contain the basic oxides responsible for the formation of ash containing chromium(VI) (calcium chromate, sodium chromate, etc.)
